For Authors

Eligibility
GWILR encourages submission of articles, essays, and book reviews based on public or private international law, comparative law, or related issues. We only accept submissions from people with a J.D. or an equivalent degree. Law student submissions will not be considered.

Submission Requirements
GWILR requires that the subject matter of the writings we publish focuses on timely topics and are more than fifty percent international. Articles, essays, and book reviews should be typed in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Submissions to Scholastica are strongly encouraged; submissions sent to eae.gwilr@law.gwu.edu will also be considered. Authors must submit (1) A complete copy of the proposed article, (2) an abstract, and (3) the author’s curriculum vitae.

Footnotes
Citations to authority should be contained in footnotes. All references to facts or thoughts other than the author’s own must be substantiated by reference to at least one authoritative source, including pincites. Footnotes should be cross-referenced. The editorial staff reserves the right to transfer text to the footnotes or vice versa.

Style and Citation Guidelines
GWILR follows the latest editions of A Uniform System of Citations (The Bluebook), The Chicago Manual of Style (16th ed.), and the GWILR Style Guide. The editorial staff reserves the right to modify text so that it conforms with these guidelines.

Technical Requirements
Articles, essays, and book reviews should be typed in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Submissions may be emailed directly to eae.gwilr@law.gw.edu or submitted through Scholastica. Authors should include a copy of their curriculum vitae and an abstract.
